We start with FLIRT, a European Union funded research project, technically driven, which looked at mobile services for WAP phones. The partners were Philips Research Labs, Philips Consumer Communications, Helsinki Telephone Company and Games producers Infogrammes. Now, it is becoming clear that the cellular structure can help shape content moving the focus from screen interaction to city interaction and people interaction.

Roxane is an original typeface designed by the author in response to a design analysis of visual attributes that enhance the legibility of font characteristics. Visual analysis of type form attributes and visual principles provide the framework for this more holistic enterprise. In the capital letters (see figure 15), much greater variety can be seen between the letters, than in the shapes inside the letters in both size and shape.

The results confirmed that short line lengths (25 characters per line) are read slower than longer line lengths, reading either at a normal or fast reading rate.
